These colourful, alien like creatures are beyond incredible and definitely a favourite marine animal of mine! I mean just look at those ever changing colours!

They can grow to 50cm mantle length and up to 100 cm in total length! These chameleons of the sea are experts at changing colour, texture and shape to disguise themselves with their surroundings, or display messages to mates or threats. For this reason they are such an interesting subject matter to paint! I could 1000’s of paintings of this species yet every painting would be uniquely different with each individual animal being able to change its appearance in split seconds.
