Just a little snippet of my process for coming up with the composition of a piece.

I start with a loose sketch of whatever subject I am painting. Cut them out, then arrange and re-arrange them on the paper before tracing them out in their final spots.
.
Then re-sketch in more detail and better proportions.

What technique do you guys use for this part of a painting process? Would love to hear all new ideas!

Well.. just the hammerheads! I went at it again and removed the hammers and worked more realistic detail into the great white.
.
Do I regret it? Welll lets say I wish I had scanned it before reworking it, so I could have had atleast prints of both 😅 haha! I quite like both the versions now.
.
Oh wellll! Maybe time to create another more fun piece. And maybe leave this one alone 🤣

I've been working very hard the past few weeks. Butttt I haven't once had a chance to create. As a creator on instagram this is really tricky and an cause a lot of stress trying to keep up with the demands of the gram!

Like all businesses on here, we all feel pressure to constantly create beautiful, shareable content.. but in reality we aren't machines.. andddd art takes time!! It can lead to a serious feeling of not accomplishing enough just because I don't have anything to share!

I hadn't realised just how many manta rays I have painted until looking back now 😳 I thought I'd share these with you too.

I mean it's no wonder. They truelly are right up there with one of my favourites. I have had the absolute pleasure of encountering these guys on three occasions in three different locations; from barrel rolling Manta's while scuba diving in Coral Bay, to swimming with a squadron (yes I googled their collective term) in Indonesia to hanging out with a particularly curious and inquisitive individual in Queensland 💙💙💙
